When you walk into the Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA, you’ll see kids learning to swim, friends playing basketball together, seniors gathering for a FOREVERWELL class, and parents dropping their kids off in child watch so they can enjoy a workout.
All of this, and more, is made possible because of community support.
Most people know the YMCA is a nonprofit organization, but many don’t realize that every membership directly supports programs and people right here in Kandiyohi County.
When you get a membership at the Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA, you’re not just making a personal investment — you’re making an investment in our community.
Scholarships: Opening Doors For All
The YMCA doesn’t turn away anyone due to an inability to pay.
Your donations and YMCA membership dues help fund scholarships for families, children, and seniors who otherwise couldn’t afford the YMCA’s programs and services.
Last year, $85,334 was given in membership and program assistance to remove financial barriers and bring more community members together at the Y.
Child Care: Supporting Families and Working Parents
The YMCA Early Learning Center offers quality child care that parents can trust.
Your membership helps our 4-Star Parent Aware facility remain accessible for all the families in the Willmar area.
When parents can work knowing their kids are cared for, our local economy benefits.
Strengthening Social Ties: Our Community Connects Here
Nobody is alone here. We’re building stronger minds, bodies, and spirits together.
The YMCA provides a space for families, friends, and neighbors to come together — from Teen Nights, to group exercise classes, to chats over coffee.
Youth Development: Investing in the Next Generation
